Gitarama is the second-largest city in Rwanda. Although a part of the Southern Province, it is situated in the centre of the country, to the west of the capital, Kigali. It is just an hours  drive from Kigali, it is situated on the way to many tourist attractions and a tourist is sure to pass through this flourishing city on a trip to Rwanda. It is the capital of the district of Muhanga.
