The main museums of interest are the ones at Huye (Butare) , Kigali , Nyanza , Karongi (Kibuye). The museums are all of different themes, like Museum of Rwandan  Ancient History  (Rukari/Nyanza/Butare), Rwandan Traditional Royal Huts (Rukari),Rwandan Arts Museum (Rwesero/Nyanza/Butare), Museum of Natural History(Kigali)and the proposed Museum of Environment (Kiguye,Karongi) also the proposed Museum of Museums (Kigali).

Genocide memorial sites are present in almost all the districts , the biggest one is at Kigali. The presentations are not recommended for young children. The Genocide memorial sites provide guides for larger groups. You have to dedicate at least 4 or 5 hours for the visit to the Genocide memorial sites, if not all at least one is recommended to be visited with enough time and patience, this will enable you to understand what the country is trying to stand up together from. The site at Kigali has exhibits on Genocides in other parts of the world also. The presentation at the Kigali memorial, on children is very touching and provide a glaring picture of the horrific acts that where committed.
