Travelling by Bus
The major towns in Rwanda are well connected by bus service. The buses are generally Coaster on inter city routes and Mini vans in intra city routes. They are relatively cheap and quick, however some of the drivers can give you chills by the way they go about the winding roads of the country. The buses are generally safe, but it is advised not to carry a lot of money or baggage with you when travelling by bus.
They are generally not over crowded and usually the passengers show a special respect for travelers.
To find the bus station in any city just ask any one for the taxi park. Buses are mostly referred to as taxis, in the worst case you can ask a moto guy to drop you at the taxi park.

Travelling by Bus to other countries
There are many companies running service to Rwanda’s neighbors, it is very economical to travel by bus and usually only a fraction of the cost of travelling by air, however some of the routes are not as safe as travelling within Rwanda. It is recommended only as a last option. Keep in mind that these routes will require taking separate visas for the country travelling to, also remember that the visiting visa issued on arrival in Rwanda is a single entry visa which becomes invalid on exit.
